What is meditation?

Meditation is a training of the brain that settles the nervous system and helps you to become more engaged, focused and less reactive. Meditation produces a very deep state of physical rest that helps get rid of stress and enhances healing. It normalizes blood pressure, reduces levels of stress hormones and optimizes the immune system. Studies also show that meditation brings about increased energy, improved perception, focus, memory, and creativity.  Regular meditators have been found to be more compassionate, happier, more relaxed, and more productive than non-meditators. They report a greater sense of inner peace and higher levels of confidence, a clearer mind, and better decision making. When your mental function improves, you feel more balanced and self aware. Your intuition is enhanced and many say meditation helps them to clarify what they really want and their goals.
